All programmes are coordinated, run and overseen personally by its directors Kevan and Beverley Hawley together with various qualified staff.
Kevan
Kevan holds 2 degrees: – A Bachelor of Science – A Master’s Degree in Business Leadership.
Kevan’s dissertation for his Master’s Degree in Business Leadership was entitled “Key Success Factors for Expatriate Management in Africa”.
He was born in 1960 in Kenya, East Africa, to parents who were themselves expatriates.
Kevan was educated in South Africa at the University of Witwatersrand and held a full bursary from South African Breweries. Whilst with SAB he worked his way up to a senior production executive level. Kevan was responsible for Production, Human Resources, Engineering, Quality Control and Finance. (A total of 13 years service.)
SAB is regarded as one of the most progressive and forward thinking companies in South Africa.
Kevan worked as an expatriate in Africa for SAB during his time with them and it was here that he gained direct experience as an expatriate. He was expatriated with his wife and 2 children.
His expatriation prompted him to write his Master’s dissertation on the subject.
Beverley
Bev has a degree in Physiotherapy and was educated in South Africa at the University of Witwatersrand.
Bev has been and expatriate wife and mother and has had first hand experience in this expatriate game and understands it well.
Her strong research, management and administrative skills have ensured that Expatriate Preparation has been built on an efficient and reliable foundation. Beverley adds great depth to the organisation and its operations.
Bevs passion lies in the youth programmes as well as our language department.
Kevan and Beverley started Expatriate Preparation in 1994 and have each been to over 50 countries around the world doing research as well as training and supporting expatriates and organisations.
